OUR EDITORIAL REVIEW

Packaging:

The Lip mousse comes in 3.4 edgy purple pot that looks like an eyeshadow single. The pots come with little sponge-tipped applicators that remove from the center portion of the product – so there is no way to lose them unlike eye shadow applicators – which can give you a sharp lip line and tons of pigment. The pot also includes a small mirror for quick checks of the application.

Range:

The mousse comes in 8 different shades ranging from plummy to coral, catering to both summer and fall palettes.

Texture:

The product has a creamy , weightless, buildable and waterproof texture with a velvety-soft finish that feels like you’re wearing nothing yet it is not sticky, smudgey, or otherwise difficult to wear.

Application:

We applied the product in 2 effortless ways: 1. We used the built-in applicator wich helps in defining the edges and specifically the cupid bow. This facilitates buildability and high pigmentation. 2. We used our fingers to dab on a little bit of the product across the lips.

Effect:

Instantly, the product provides high-impact color with a velvety matte soft finish that feels like you’re wearing nothing. Since it is extremely pigmented, Lo-Fi’s budge-proof, buildable formula lets you control the color and keep it where you want – from sheer to full coverage.
We noticed that when applying it with our fingers, the result was a more natural tinted effect as if we had spent the day eating popsicles while when we applied it with the applicator, the result was a much deeper pigmented impact.
Either way, the product dries matte on the lips but never looks or feels cakey. On top, the formula is waterproof making it the perfect go to for all the beach days and pool parties of summer.
The mousse lasted between three and six hours without breaking down with drinking water or hot tea, but they did not survive through meals that well.

Price:

The lip mousse retails for 25.2$/3.4g which is comparable to products like Clinique’s “Pop Lip Shadow” which retails at $19.5/1.2g but cheaper than Benefit’s They’re Real Red On at 26$/1.2g
