The “Naked 2 Basics Eyeshadow Palette” comes in a packaging that is similar to other Naked palettes by Urban Decay. The metal box is rose gold with hints of taupe. It is embossed with the product and brand name and information. The palette has a large mirror attached to its lid but does not come with an applicator brush. Given that this product only holds 6 shades, it is small in size and is travel friendly. The overall look of the palette is sleek and simple.
The texture of the eyeshadows is smooth.
This product doesn’t have any strong smells.
This palette has six of shades that range from light to dark, only one of the shadows has a satin finish and the rest are pure mattes. “Skimp” is satiny beige, “Stark” a matte light pink, “Frisk” is a matte taupe, “Cover” a medium reddish brown with a matte finish, “Primal” a medium matte yellowish brown and “Undone” a dark smoky brown with a matte finish.
The “Naked 2 Basics Eyeshadow Palette” by Urban Decay is versatile in terms of its range of colors. Compared to the other Naked palettes, we found the shadows in the “Naked 2 Basics Eyeshadow Palette” to be easier to blend. They felt less chalky and creamier. In fact, the shadows were easy to layer and apply evenly.
The quality of the shadows themselves is very nice. They have a long staying power and do not crease or patch up after application. The shades are pigmented enough to have a color payoff effect after only one application. We also found that the eyeshadows do not transfer a lot which means that they are suitable for all day wear. Additionally, we found that the nudes in the palette suit every skin tone.
The “Naked 2 Basics Eyeshadow Palette” by Urban Decay sells at $35.8/6shades which is pricier than other products like NYX Professional Makeup’s “Lid Lingerie Eyeshadow Palette” which retails at $22.23/6shades and L’Oréal Paris’ “La Petite Mini Eyeshadow Palette” which sells at $18/6shades.
