Packaging:

The Urban Decay Naked Skin Highlighting Fluid comes in a daring shiny light pink cardboard box. The box contains all the information on the product, including the brand, Urban Decay, the collection, Naked, and the type of product, a skin highlighting fluid. The colour is written on the top, so you’re immediately able to identify which highlighter you’re holding. Once you open the box, the product will be in a see-through tube with a screw-on metallic top also acting as an applicator. You can immediately identify the shade of the fluid through the tube and make sure the color matches your expectations. The applicator is regular shaped, similar to what you would usually expect from a concealer applicator.

Smell:

The highlighter fluid has quite a neutral smell. It smells like hydrating cream mixed with a bit of chemicals. It’s not bad at all – and the smell disappears quickly once the product is applied – but it’s not a particularly ravishing smell either.

Available colors:

There are five available shades for the Naked Highlighting Fluid: AURA – an iridescent light pink; SIN – a pale nude with gold shift; FIREBALL – a peach with pink shift; LUMINOUS – pearlescent white with gold shift and SKYWALK – a pale iridescent blue. This is what the brand claims about each shade: • SIN imparts a healthy-looking, champagne sheen that’s great for every skin tone • AURA lays down a sheer pearl glow that’s ideal for any skin tone • SKYWALK is an iridescent light blue that brightens the under-eye area and the inner corners of eyes • FIREBALL suits medium to dark skin tones for a flawless glow on the cheekbones • LUMINOUS is ideal for fair skin, and it can be layer under foundation for a subtle glow

Application:

The brand recommends to apply the highlighter anywhere you want to create a glowy, strobed effect, like on the cheekbones, the bridge of the nose, and the Cupid’s bow. Depending on the skin and with which products you choose to combine the highlighter, you can either choose to use a damp sponge or your fingers to blend in the product. Pro-tip: The fluid dries quickly so your movements need to be quick and effective when applying and in case of very dry weather, you will want to use a damp sponge as opposed to your fingers.

This highlighting fluid is said to instantly illuminate your skin and reduce the look of flaws, by giving you a perfect glow. If contouring is not for you, the Naked Skin Highlighting Fluid lets you achieve non-touring, which is a technique revolves around fresh, natural-looking makeup that gently encourages subtle shape with a glow-from-within look. The highlighter fluid is usually step three of a typical non-touring routine. The naked highlighter is great for every complexion type, including dry or mature skin. We found the SIN shade is ideal for a light matte skin. It has subtle pearl-like pigments diffusing light to skin. Even if you’re not normally the highlighter type, we recommend having this in your makeup kit. It creates a beautiful shimmer and gives a natural glow that makes your skin look healthy and alive. It is also not heavy at all on the skin, which is quite nice. When you don’t feel like doing a full face of makeup or your face is tired because you’ve barely slept the night before.
