This serum is part of the Glycolic-Bright range from L’Oréal Paris, which was specially designed to enhance skin radiance and reduce dark spots, with (1%) glycolic acid as the main ingredient to complete this task. Here is our review of this serum.
The L’Oréal Paris brand adopts an elegant and unified design for its latest serums, such as Revitalift serum or Hyaluron Expert, in addition to the Glycolic-Bright serum. In terms of external packaging, it was made of thick cardboard with a drawing of the serum package, and all information about it was written in both English and Arabic. As for the bottle, it is made of glass of 30 milliliters, and it is not transparent, instead it is white and light pink. The packaging has a remarkable effect in terms of showing the refraction of light on it, thus highlighting a line of various and overlapping colors. The package is equipped with a dropper to be able to get the required amount of serum and apply it on the face meticulously.
This serum from the Glycolic-Bright collection has a liquid yet dense texture, due to its high concentration. Therefore, you need to massage it on the skin to absorb it.
The fragrance of this serum is inspired by flowers, but it is so light that it can only be smelled when it is brought close to the nose, so its smell will not cause you any discomfort.
This serum is suitable for all skin types without exception. However, it was made to reduce the severity of dark spots, so if you suffer from this problem, this product is designed for you.
Before applying the day cream or any other product, apply a few drops of Glycolic-Bright Serum, avoiding the eye area, and massage well until completely absorbed by the skin.
We tested this serum for 3 weeks along with the day and night creams from the same group, and we will tell you about its immediate effect in addition to its long-term effect.
Upon first application, we felt a slight tingling which is normal since the serum is rich in skin exfoliating glycolic acid. But this feeling disappeared with days.
What we really liked was that the serum provided a good base before applying makeup without being sticky or having any bad effect on other products. In fact, we noticed that the makeup was strongly set when the serum is applied first.
Within about five days, it was remarkable that this serum, along with the day and night creams, were able to reduce the intensity of a dark spot that was visible on the face due to the exfoliating effect of glycolic acid. This made the skin look more even-toned.
14 days after using the serum, this effect was more and more prominent with the consistency of daily use, and the skin started gradually to look brighter. The result may not be clear during the first days of use, but it needs patience for the glycolic acid to start exfoliating the skin smoothly without stripping it of its natural oils. Note that this same acid is used by dermatologists in peeling sessions, but of course the percentage of concentration varies. In L’Oreal Paris Serum, the percentage of concentration is 1%, which is the highest concentration to be used in lotions.
At the end of the third week, the serum became an integral part of our daily routine, whether in terms of reducing dark spots, fixing makeup, or increasing skin radiance and reducing its dullness.
