The UD Meltdown Makeup Remover Dissolving Spray is packaged in a medium white soft touch bottle with a white sprayer and a frosted black cap. On the bottle, the brand’s typical stain like black cloud serves as a background for the information (name of the brand, use of the product, etc.) The packaging is consistent with the brand’s visual identity which helps you quickly identify the bottle in your makeup bag.

Texture and Smell:

The spray is liquid and a bit oily, with a faint chemical smell that goes almost immediately away.

Skin Type:

The brand doesn’t specify whether this product is meant for a certain skin type only. So, you can assume it is suitable for all skin types. However, if you have a sensitive skin, we recommend going for a pharmacy-sold makeup remover, as to avoid any breakouts.

Pro-tip: For the ones who are more daring, you can choose not to follow the brand’s application advice. You can spray the product all over your face, let it sit for 10-15 seconds and then wipe your face off with a warm damp towel. This will allow better and quicker removal of your makeup. We also advice to wash off the product and use your regular moisturiser after, this might block negative effects for sensitive skin.

Effect:

The brand claims that the UD Meltdown Makeup Remover is formulated to easily remove even the most stubborn waterproof makeup while also being gentle on the skin, in one swipe without rubbing or tugging. It also asserts the weightlessness of the product, leaving skin clean, refreshed and without a trace of makeup.
We found that while this UD spray does indeed remove most makeup, it’s not as powerful as the brand claims when it comes to full on waterproof mascara for example. But for things like full coverage foundation, lipstick, eye shadow, etc. the spray is quite useful. For most users, skin doesn’t end up being irritated or red, it is on the contrary super soft and supple. However, some users, especially ones with very sensitive skin, have reported that the use of the product has resulted in outbreaks and zits (see application section for how to avoid).
Definitely a great one for your purse and for weekend getaways as it’s so easy to use and practical to transport. And you don’t need to worry about it accidentally getting in your eye, as it doesn’t sting as some other makeup removers sometimes do.
