Packaging:

Afterglow Highlighter Palette comes in an iridescent case with a mesmerizing shifty-rose effect. Depending on how the light hits it, the case seems to change colors, and gives off a highlight/lowlight effect. A magnetic closure keeps the palette closed in your bag to prevent makeup mishaps. It is a slim square palette with four new shades of the UD Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Highlighter.

Texture:

The different highlighters share the same lightweight, finely-milled and almost cream like texture that feels luxurious and super-soft.

Application:

The shades can be used individually or we can cocktail them to create our own custom highlight.
For the actual application, we dabbed some around the corners of our eyes and on the brow bones for a wide-awake look. For a more intense “What, me, a model?” look, we applied down the bridge of the nose and along the cheekbones. And for a full-on look, we added a little bit on the Cupid’s bow and the tip of the nose too. For blending, we used our fingertips or a highlighter brush.

Effect:

In general, the 4 shades’ wearable formula allows for a beautifully smooth application that is easily buildable. The effect is a glowy, strobed effect that lasts all day – 8 hours to be specific.
Since the formula feels like cream upon application, the product will never leave a powdery dusting of shimmer that will fade within a few minutes. It is infused with light-diffusing pigments that enhance and perfect the skin giving it that radiant shine and ‘healthy’ look.
When it comes to the different colors, each will provide something different:
Bliss is a light gold with strong warm, orange undertones and a metallic sheen that is much lighter than it appeared in the pan (where it looked more like a peachy orange).
Peroxide is a light pink with subtle, cool undertones and a sparkling, frosted finish that was applied easily but was more buildable than the other shades.
NSFW is a light-medium, peachy coral with warm undertones and a frosted sheen. It feels the most cream-like of the 4 as it was soft but still a bit denser upon application. It gives out a very strong, reflective sheen, but still smoothed out our skin rather than accentuate imperfections and pores.
Finally, Side Piece is a medium gold with strong, warm orange undertones and a pearly sheen that is neither overpowering or weak. We thought this to be the most ‘natural’ of the 4 shades.

Price:

The UD Highlighter palette retails at a price of 50.4$/18g which puts it on the high side when compared to other similar products such as Fenty Beauty’s Killawat Free Style Highlighter at 36$/7.5g or even Huda Beauty 3D highlighter palette at 45$/24g.
