Application:
According to Benefit, the best way to apply this mascara is by holding it horizontally and giving the brush a wiggle in a zigzag motion from root to tip and along the lash line.
Effect:
We applied this mascara as indicated on its box. Covering the entire lashes, even the tiny ones near the inner corner of the eye, was a piece of cake due to the mascara’s easy-gliding, creamy formula. Its black, pigmented color gives off a noticeable effect from the first layer applied. We added a second one to volumize the lashes, and it didn’t cause any clumping as the layers blended out smoothly.
Upon applying the second layer, this mascara added luxurious length and volume to the lashes. However, it didn’t curl them as desired despite trying to lift and do that ourselves. So you might need to use a supplementary eyelash curler to achieve the false lash effect and point out that in fact, “They’re real!” This mascara stayed on the lashes for an entire day, preserving the effect given when applied in the morning, with no signs of clumping or smudging. We did face some trouble removing it with the makeup remover we usually use, though. There was also a little residue left even after gliding makeup remover wipes through the lashes.
Price:
This mascara retails at 36 USD per 8.8 ml in Lebanon. Its price is comparable to the Shiseido Full Lash Volume Mascara at 38 USD per 8 ml. And this is an average price in the market, as there is a wide range of less pricy mascaras with the same size from brands such as Maybelline New York, Max Factor, Bourjois, and L’Oreal Paris (between 10 and 25 USD). But also, on the more expensive side, there are also mascaras such as Estée Lauder, Clarins, and Guerlain (above 50 USD).

it’s natural, stays on all day, and gives great length without spider web effect. It’s also super easy to apply and doesn’t make my lashes clump. The only reason I wouldn’t give it five star is because I usually prefer more volume and blackness for the night

I got the mini size in a bundle a couple months ago; the wand is fairly good, the color is opaque (I got the brown one), but it doesn’t hold a curl as much as I’d need it to. I had heard a lot of great reviews about it but it didn’t impress me that much.

I kept hearing about this for months before I actually bought it. I used it a few times before I made up my mind, even though I fell in love with it from the get-go. I love the wand, because it gives off that false-lash look and gives that extra push and volume to the lashes. The only thing I’m not particularly crazy about is the fact that the wand is a little rough. But all in all, it’s an amazing mascara and I would definitely repurchase it again!

I received this mascara as part of October Ounousa box and tried it on this morning! Just got back home and the effect is still there: natural and nice! It is also super easy to put on and gives you the little extra glow for any given day! I would definitely recommend ‘They re real mascara’!

“Hello gorgeous ?? So it’s my third item from the @ounousa october box and this is one of 3 @benefitlebanon products came in it. This mascara is a classic @benefitcosmetics product and it came out before their newer ones. ⚫The packaging is super cute. I love the dark grey color paired with orange fonts.?? ⚫The wand is cylendric somehow with a smaller tip to get the corners right. I never had this shape of wand before. ⚫I’m amazed you guyss. It lengthens, it separates, it gives your lashes that fan effect. ? It didn’t thicken the lashes but they appeared noticably longer and darker and neat (in a way). ?Did it smudge at the end of the day? Yes. Not gonna lie all mascaras perform the same here. 94% saw dramatic length???? 94% saw visible lift???? 90% saw base to tip curl? Ummm @benefitmiddleeast #rollerlash is the king curler. 100% saw long-wearing results? Started toSmudge after 7 hours but i’m so satisfied. “This has been one of my favorite mascaras for a long time! I have short yet thick lashes that hardly get curled by any mascara but this one actually feels like you’re giving them an extension without having its bad aftermath. I received a sample of this mascara in the Ounousa Reviews October box in the color Black. Packaging: I really liked that even though I received the sample size yet the wand’s size was still as the full-sized one which is huge. It does not have any significant smell like any regular mascara. They recommend on the package to place the mascara horizontally from the roots of the lashes and wiggle it upwards to get the best results. I followed the same steps and it actually worked. Experience: I liked this mascara a lot and it really does give a false lashes effect. It extremely lengthens the lashes but to me that was it. It did not give my lashes any volume and it does not appear deeply black. I liked the mascara because it does its job but if you want a curl and volume to your lashes you have to mix it with another mascara. I personally would not purchase the full size because there are several mascaras out there that are way cheaper and give the same and better results like Maybelline or Essence mascaras. So eventually you can save more than half the money and buy a drugstore mascara that will perform equally or better. But I will continue to use this mascara and mix it with other ones because it really gives amazing length to the lashes.

“I was so excited when I received a sample sized of benefit They’re Real Macara and It really shocked me. I really enjoy using this mascara when I started to wear every day in the last week. 1) Packaging: The packaging is funky and very appealing. It comes in a black box with big orange writing and a lovely sleek brown tube, but you wouldn’t expect anything less from benefit products. 2) Wand: The brush is slightly different to regural but it easy to use. The brush for this mascara is that of the silicon type, with a lot of short and long spikes (bristles) which it separate the lashes without clumping. 3) Formula: The formula itself is great, rich, pigmented and it applies easily and dries quickly. Considering that it’s not a waterproof mascara, but it’s extremely long lasting. The finish isn’t completely matte, it is satin shiny a bit. Formula of this mascara is quite light and give wet looking, I don’t need also go over it with a clean brush afterwards to remove the excess product, because it separate lashes without any clump. I haven’t experienced any irritation with this mascara. 4) My own experience: a- I found this mascara easy to use b- It gives the lashes a almighty coverage in one swipe c- It stay all day without clump, smudge, budge or flakes d- The end result is quite dark and glossy e- It’s very natural look that gives volume and adding a bit of a curl f- It doesn’t dry lashes out and they look smooth g- I love the effect of this mascara wich gave my lashes as they did “”look reak””, seperated and thick It’s 5 stars for me 5) Price: It’s a really great product but for uni-students it is too expensive so it would be nice if the price was a bit lower, but I personally do not mind paying a bit more for a product of such a great quality. 6) Tips to remove it easily: The only problem is trying to remove it, for this reason I suggest that you try with some warm water and water-prof makeup remover that contain oil. In this way is easily been able to remove it using a cotton pad 7) Recommendation: Benefit They’re Real is an excellent mascara. I don’t find any bad sides of this product but for special occasions I search for a mascara that highly volumizing my lashes.”

“Well, I am a very very very picky person when it comes to mascara. I am allergic to most of them, including the big names (that I won’t mention now) – After a lot of trial and error I could only use a couple of mascaras including the “”Bad Gal”” mascara by benefit – However, after applying this i noticed how natural the effect it. It does not clot AT ALL, AT ALL no matter how many applies you put and it gets ur lashes taller thicker and just more! Usually I am the perfect indicator of bad mascara; they make my twitch. My eyes didn’t twitch at all and I actually shot my episode of “”startups on the spot”” with this mascara. Loved it, would definitely switch to it for good.”

“I received the Benefit They’re Real! Mascara in the Ounousa Reviews October Box and I cannot even begin to describe how much I fell in love with this product! Thank you so much Ounousa for helping me discover this treasure! I’ve always had problems when trying to pick the perfect mascara since I usually like to go for something that looks natural but also gives my lashes length and volume. I tried different mascaras which all ended up either smudging or flaking off during the day and the closest I got to the perfect formula was NYX’s Stacked Mascara, but I’ve now realized that it doesn’t hold up against They’re Real! in terms of longevity and non-clumpiness. The formula is just perfect, I love how the brush just gives you the right amount of product and my lashes look perfectly spaced, long and full for almost all day! The only problem I think is important to mention is that it is kind of hard to take off (which just proves how long wear and smudge-free its formula is). But using the right makeup remover solution, it takes a little extra effort to take off but it’s definitely worth it! I’m definitely forever repurchasing! Thanks again!”

“I have this product in full size and I have to say both sample and actual product have their flaws. While the effect of the mascara is wonderful (full and long lashes that look natural), the feel of it and its wear are not my cup of tea. Taking it off is terrible as well, because it just STICKS on the eyelash and doesn’t let go until your eye is sore from all the rubbing; even then when I’m all makeup free and washed up, there is mascara residue. My lashes always feel sticky and stiff when I wear it, and by the end of the day I’m dying to take it off. I feel like for how much it retails here in Lebanon, it’s not worth it. There are other mascaras on the market that are cheaper and have a better feel and wear.”

“For its’ 36$ price i wouldn’t recommend it really. I usually prefer big bushy brushes with “”hairs””, and this silicone brush did not change my mind at all. It made my lashes very clumpy comparing to other brushes. But what i liked was the lengthening and lifting effect it actually gives. But the clumping is still there which put me off and keeps me from using it.”

“I don’t usually carry my makeup in my carry-on when I travel, but I decided to get the mini from the airport for its cute and ideal size as I heard a lot about it. It’s a bit expensive. It’s perfect for a daily look, doesn’t cause clumping, and indeed gives a very natural voluminous look to your lashes.
