The “Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara” by Marc Jacobs Beauty is packaged in a hexagon shaped black tube. The brand name is printed in silver on the product which looks classy and elegant. The wand is hourglass shaped with thick bristles. The packaging is a bit bulky.

Texture:

The mascara has a rich creamy texture.

Scent:

The product does not have any particular smell.

Effect:

The “Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara” by Marc Jacobs Beauty was very easy to apply on the lashes because of its creamy texture. The mascara separated the lases perfectly and coated them with a nice black color. For optimal results, we recommend applying two coats of the mascara. The biggest effect that the mascara had was making the eyes look wider. Additionally, the “Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara” was transfer-proof and did not smudge or crease throughout the day. At the end of the day, the fade of the mascara was almost non-noticeable, and it did not look grainy. Also, the mascara made the eyes look dewy, however, it did not have a bold effect. In fact, there was no fake-lash effect and the black color of the mascara was not very intense. For a day look, we found that the “Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara” gives a great look. However, with a smoky eye at night, the mascara is a bit underwhelming.

The “Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara” by Marc Jacobs comes in two sizes and prices: $26/9.5mL and $14/6mL. The product has a good price compared to others in the same range like Giorgio Armani Beauty’s “Eyes to Kill” which retails at $31/10mL and Givenchy Beauty’s “Noir Interdit” which sells at $29/9mL. It is also comparable to the best selling “Better than Sex” mascara by Too Faced which costs $24/8mL.
