The “Lock-It Setting Powder” by Kat Von D comes in a transparent plastic jar with a screw-on black lid. The cap has the KVD logo engraved on it. The product itself looks a light beige color, however, it is translucent upon application. The jar has sifter holes which are presented in the shape of a star. The product doesn’t come with a brush.
The powder itself is very fine and delicate. The product feels silky smooth when applied.
This powder has no particular smell.
If you are using the setting powder on one area of the face, such as to set under-eye concealer, simply apply the powder using a brush on the desired area and wait a couple of minutes. After that, brush off any remaining powder.
To set full-face makeup, use a bigger brush and apply a generous amount of the powder onto the face. Wait for a few minutes and then brush-off any excess powder.
The “Lock-It Setting Powder” by Kat Von D is very finely milled which makes it completely weightless when applied on the face. The powder performance well and blends effortlessly with the skin. We found that this setting powder does not appear patchy upon application.
The “Lock-It Setting Powder” is translucent but has a mattifying and brightening effect when applies on the skin. We found this product to have an airbrushed effect on our makeup. When we tested this product on dry skin, we found that unlike other setting powders, the “Lock-It Setting Powder” does not cling on to dry areas and does not emphasize them.
For optimal results, we recommend applying a layer of SPF-rich moisturizer before applying your makeup and setting powder.
The “Lock-It Setting Powder” by Kat Von D comes in two sizes and prices: mini $16/5.4g and regular $31/18.9g which is pricier than other products in a similar range like Laura Mercier’s “Translucent Loose Setting Powder” which retails at $39/30g and Fenty Beauty’s “Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Setting Powder” which sells at $32/28g. It remains cheaper than other products in a different range like Charlotte Tilbury’s “Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder” which sells at $45/7.9g.

I absolutely adore all Kat Von D products.
I have dry skin so powder products aren’t kind to me but sometimes my foundation seems too shiny so I use powder to tone down the glazed look that the liquid foundation leaves. I’ve tried so many powders to find one that doesn’t accent the dry patches on my face and this is hands down the best I’ve tried.
I really wish in the near future Kat Von D products would be easier to access in Lebanon but for now I think the products are totally worth the money and hassle.

This powder is awesome to set your makeup and baking. It is translucent and it very fine. It adds a little bit of light without toning up your foundation. Use slight amount with a brush to set your foundation and concealer, as you can use it with a beauty sponge or pack it with a brush to bake. I love it,
