OUR EDITORIAL REVIEW

Packaging:

The “GinZing Energy-Boosting Gel Moisturizer” by Origins is packed in a glass jar with a white screw-on cap and a safety seal. The tub is a deep orange color and the product and brand information are engraved in black on a white label. The design is very sleek and has a clean finish.

Texture:

The product is lightweight.

Scent:

The “GinZing Energy-Boosting Gel Moisturizer” by Origins smells like oranges. After application, the smell slowly fades.

Application:

Using clean fingertips, apply dollops of the product onto the face and massage gently. This gel moisturizer can be used in the morning or at night.

Effect:

The “GinZing Energy-Boosting Gel Moisturizer” gives the skin an instant boost of hydration. When we tested the product, we found that the gel-cream is quickly absorbed by the skin leaving a small trace of product that gives the skin a dewy look. The moisturizer did not make the skin feel or look oily and its effects lasted all day. The texture of the “GinZing Energy-Boosting Gel Moisturizer” is very lightweight which allows the skin to retain moisture without the feeling of heaviness on the face. The skin was soft and smooth and even looked brighter after a few applications. The product also added a glow to lackluster complexions. However, the gel-cream did leave a film after it dried out and we needed to wash the face thoroughly to get rid of dried-out excess product

Price:

The “GinZing Energy-Boosting Gel Moisturizer” by Origins comes in two sizes and prices: $17/30mL and $29.5/50mL. The product’s price is comparable to other similar products like Kiehl’s “Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel-Cream” which sells at $30/50mL and L’Occitane’s “Aqua Réotier Ultra Thirst-Quenching Gel” which retails at $29/50mL. It remains cheaper than other products in a higher range like Shiseido’s “Essential Energy Moisturizing Cream” which sells at $48/50mL.
