The By Terry Baume De Rose Liquid Lip Balm comes in a sleek, glass tube similar to that of lip gloss, through which the pink color appears. It also has a secure lid and a gloss-like applicator wand.
This lip balm brims with a refreshing, rose-scented fragrance that lingers on the lips.
Baume de Rose has a fluid but thick, easy-to-spread formula, but make sure you spread it out evenly to avoid clumping.
We tried out this lip balm over a period of two weeks on dry, chapped lips. In terms of instant effects, the balm adds an invigorating touch to dry lips and helps reduce chapping significantly, allowing smooth lipstick application. It also gives off a shiny effect on the lips, so you can apply it after lipstick as a healthier replacement for gloss. Baume de Rose stands out on the lips for around two hours, then begins to fade out gradually, leaving the lips softer and less dry. Upon continuous use, we noticed that lip chapping diminished despite not having made any changes to the daily routine. The lips also seemed to be more hydrated, and thus lipstick application smoother. However, it is best to keep using this balm for a while so that the lips don’t return to their previous state. This happened after two weeks, when we refrained from using the balm for three days and the chapping and dryness resurfaced. For this reason, Baume de Rose can be used as a daily lip balm rather than just a temporary treatment.
This lip balm retails at 48 USD per 7ml. Its price is considered to be higher than that of most specialized lip repair treatments such as Uriage Bariderm Cica-Lips which is sold at 17 USD per 15 ml, and Vichy Aqualia Thermal Repair at 14 USD per 4.7 ml.
