“The POREfessional Pearl Primer” by Benefit Cosmetics is packaged in a baby pink squeezy tube with a drawing of a blond woman in a dress on it. The product has a secure screw on black cap. This makes it travel friendly as the packaging is leak-proof. The brand and product information are written in black and white on the tube. We found the design to be unique and creative.
Texture:
This product has a very light texture and has a thick creamy consistency.
Scent:
This primer has a nice fruity and floral smell which can be overpowering.
Skin Type and Skin Type Tested On:
This product is suitable for all skin types. It is oil free which makes it suitable with oily skin or skin prone to acne.
We tested this product on sensitive skin.
Effect:
“The POREfessional Pearl Primer” by Benefit Cosmetics was easy to apply. It felt very lightweight, silky and refreshing on the skin. The product is slightly thicker than the original, however, its formula allows it to be absorbed quickly by the skin. The primer has a silicone base which makes it work almost instantly when applied to the skin.
In fact, when we tested the “POREfessional Pearl Primer” on its own, we found that it minimizes pore effectively and reduces the appearance of redness and fine lines successfully. Additionally, unlike the original, the “POREfessional Pearl Primer” gives the face a soft glow. It also has brightening effects that are clearly visible after application.
When tested under makeup, we found that it is important to choose makeup that is compatible with this silicone-based primer to avoid flakiness and patchiness. Other than that, the product worked very well under makeup and prolonged the effects of foundation and blush. It also allowed eyeshadow to stay in place.
Price:
The “POREfessional Pearl Primer” by Benefit Cosmetics retails at a market price of $45.3/22mL which is pricier than other products in the same range such as Max Factor’s “Miracle Prep” which costs $24/30mL. It is also pricier than products in another range like Maybelline’s “Master Primer” which sells at $12/30mL.

The primer is good for dry skin, it makes the foundation last longer. Its texture is nice and the product is easy to apply.

I have mixed feelings to this because I have a combination skin type and it seems not to fit this kind of skin. It made my skin more oily in the T zone so I guess I should use a different primer.

This primer is AMAZING. For someone who has combination skin I was worried it would make me oily but no, it was actually so nice. It blurred my pores to non-existent and left me with this nice smooth inner glow skin.

It’s a great primer for my combination skin, it does reduce the appearance of pores around my nose, control the oil, and it leaves my face very soft. The texture is not heavy and the skin, and I love the pinky soft radiance that it has. It is expensive though, I personally bought it when it was on sale :p
