Packaging:

The Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer by Maybelline New York comes in a small thin see through tube with a sticker with black and white writing on it. The tip of the tube has a micro-corrector applicator with a twist collar that needs to be turned in the direction of arrows showing on it, until the concealer is visible on the sponge. It is a bit hard to use the first time as it may take a couple of twists until the product is finally sucked out to the sponge. The transparent cap of the product does not close securely so your need to be careful as the sponge may get uncovered and smudge your makeup bag. Although the packaging is small therefore easy to toss in your makeup bag when you’re on the go, it does not contain a lot of product and lasts for up to 2 weeks maximum if used regularly which is one of the downsides of this product.

There are 3 shades available of this foundation; light, sand and nude.

Texture:

The texture of this foundation is thin and easily spreadable. It is very easy to evenly distribute and can be used all over the face not only on the eye area.

Application:

This product comes with it’s own micro-corrector which means there’s no need for any other sponge or brush. You may apply it directly with its applicator but we found out that spreading it with your finger gives a better result as it allows the product to cover the finest lines on the under eye area.

Effect:

This concealer is infused with Goji Berry and Haloxyl. Goji berries are proven to have benefits on the skin and especially the under-eye area such as managing the effects of the sun as well as managing the impact of aging which is why this product is also considered a treatment as well as a concealer. Moreover, Haloxyl is known for its benefits in reducing bags and dark circles under the eyes. The smooth texture of product allows it to be easily applied and it gets absorbed by your skin very quickly.
You can add more layers if more coverage is needed. One thing we did not like about this product is that it does not last a long time. A couple of hours and you’ll notice dark circles appearing again. Therefore, re-applying it every now and then is a must if you have a long day out. Even with a setting spray, not much of a difference is made.
Yet, the effect of this concealer really is instant and it does not get patchy even when you retouch it. After using it for a while, we noticed that it does have an anti-aging effect as the brand claims. It does tend to reduce dark circles and fine lines under the eye but the effect is not miraculous and needs regular application.

Price:

The Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer is sold in Lebanon at 16.5 USD for a 6.8mL capacity which is double the price of other products of the same brand such as Maybelline’s “Affinitone” concealer which retails at 8 USD for a 7.5mL capacity. Yet, it is understandable that this product is more expensive as it has a dual purpose; treating and concealing.
