OUR EDITORIAL REVIEW

Packaging:

The “Aromachologie Intensive Repair Shampoo” by L’Occitane en Provence comes in a bulky semi-transparent green bottle with a silver dispenser pump. The brand name is printed in silver on the container and the product’s information is written in black and white on a pink label.

Texture:

This shampoo has a gel-like texture.

Smell:

The “Aromachologie Intensive Repair Shampoo” has a very nice herbal smell.

Hair Type:

This shampoo is designed for damaged hair.

Application:

Dispense a dollop of the shampoo into the palm of your hand and mix with water to lather-up. Massage the resulting mix into the scalp very gently. Rinse off the product thoroughly with lukewarm water.

Effect:

We tested the “Aromachologie Intensive Repair Shampoo” by L’Occitane on sensitized hair every day for a week. The immediate take-away is that the hair was not dried out or weighed down even when the shampoo was used daily. We were able to wash the shampoo easily from the hair without leaving any residue. Indeed, there was no build-up on the scalp. After each application, the hair looked shinier and healthier and there were less loose strands of hair lost.

The “Aromachologie Intensive Repair Shampoo” made the hair look and feel softer and smoother. Indeed, the hair was easier to style, and it did not tangle as much when brushed. The downside is how much product is needed to ensure lathering, especially because this shampoo is soap free. So, we would recommend this product as a hair treatment to be alternated with a shampoo that suits your hair instead of a main shampoo.

Price:

The “Aromachologie Intensive Repair Shampoo” by L’Occitane comes in two sizes and prices: $24/300 mL and $34/500 mL which is comparable to other products in a similar range such as Origin’s “Clear Head Mint Shampoo” which sells at $21/250 mL. However, it remains cheaper than other products in a different range like Clarins’ “Invigorating Shine Shampoo with Ginseng” which retails at $33/300 mL.
