Packaging:

The Genesis range from Kérastase comprises two different types of shampoo: Bain Hydra-Fortifiant (for fine hair) that comes in a transparent bottle and Bain Nutri-Fortifiant (for thick hair) that comes in an opaque, light pink bottle. The name of the range and initial letter of the brand are displayed on the bottle in red.
The bottle has a silver cap that accentuates its elegant design, while its narrow opening dispenses an ideal amount of product without any spillage.

Smell:

All of the Genesis products have the same strong, invigorating smell. You will notice it has a masculine whiff right after you apply it into the palm of your hands. But it becomes more subtle after washing the hair, and lingers until the following day. The more it fades out, the nicer it gets and the more it grows on you.

Texture:

Bain Nutri-Fortifiant has an ultra-smooth, gel texture that flows out of the bottle and spreads out effortlessly on the hair.

Hair Type:

This shampoo is designed for thick hair prone to falling due to breakage. We tried it on thick, dry hair that suffers from fallout, especially when combed or heat-styled.

Application:

We noticed that a small (dime-sized) amount of product goes a long way when washing the hair, which makes it last longer. We applied it twice to wet hair: First time, we lathered into the hair until it turned vey foamy so we rinsed it off with warm water. Second time, we applied it then massaged the scalp and locks so that they absorb all of the nourishing ingredients it contains (Ginger Root extract and Edelweiss flower). Finally, we rinsed it off thoroughly with water.
Note that we used Genesis Masque Reconstituant from the same range alongside the shampoo.

Effect:

The first time we tried out the Kérastase Genesis Bain Nutri-Fortifiant we focused on its hair cleansing properties and effect on the locks. As for breakage, results usually take some time to become visible just as any other hair treatment. We noticed that the shampoo got rid of all impurities and excess oil, and the hair looked quite clean and fresh after washing it. Upon the third use, the coarse hair that once suffered from dryness became much smoother.
Keep in mind that you can’t rely on the shampoo alone to detangle the hair. You have to apply the mask we tried out to avoid breakage after combing, especially if you have dry hair.
As for hair fallout, the difference was crystal clear only four to five weeks after using the shampoo with its complementary mask. Fallout diminished remarkably after combing wet hair, and even after blow-drying and straightening it.
The hair was noticeably healthy and nourished after combing between the first and fifth week of use. The shampoo also helped get rid of hair dullness and made it shiny like never before.
This shampoo is one of the products you can rely on whether in terms of nourishing ingredients or expected results.

Price:

The Bain Nutri-Fortifiant shampoo retails at 34.5 USD per 250 ml in Lebanon. Its price is similar to other types of anti-fallout shampoo. For instance, the René Furterer Triphasic Stimulating shampoo retails at 34 USD per 200 ml, and Phyto Phytocyane shampoo at 31 USD per 250 ml.
There are also more affordable options available, such as L’Oreal Professionel Inforcer Anti-Breakage shampoo at 21 USD per 300 ml.
