The product comes in two versions: one for normal/combination skin and the other for dry/sensitive skin.
Skin Type Tested On:
The moisturizer was tested on a combination skin with tendency to oil.
Smell & Texture:
The product has a watery gel-like consistency that gives off a cooling sensation upon application and smells lightly of fresh water elevating the base ingredient even higher. The texture is also very lightweight and applies quickly.
Application:
To get the most out of the moisturizer, guidelines are to make it part of the regular skincare regimen and apply it to clean skin every morning under makeup, and every night after cleansing and rubbing over the face and neck. The product can be used alone or after your serum, and it replaces the daily moisturizer. For better absorption, we applied the gel with circular motions.
Effect:
As per the label, the moisturizer claims to be a daily moisturizer with liquid care technology that is formulated with Aloe water and 3 sources of Hyaluronic to provide continuous hydration and mattify the skin, leaving it looking more fresh, healthier and softer over time.
Instantly upon application, the consistency of the product gives off a cooling and invigorating sensation – as if you were splashing ice cold water onto your face. Also, the very lightweight formula allows for quick and complete absorption by the skin. It is pure moisture that penetrates quickly, deeply and continuously – without overloading the skin or feeling heavy. So, when it comes to moisturizing the skin, we can say that after 2 weeks of usage, our skin is infused with moisture that is locked in. this plays a great role in reducing the excess oil that tends to be produced by oily skin types.
An added positive result is that the moisturizer helped in reducing the size of our pores making them almost unnoticeable. This only reinforces the minimization of oil production by the skin. All of the above make the product an excellent replacement to the daily moisturizer we use therefore not adding any extra step to our daily skincare routine.
Unfortunately, when it comes to the mattifying promise of the brand, we did not really see that result. For combination skin types with a tendency to oil, having a moisturizer that can actually mattify the skin would be great, but this specific product did not really deliver – it simply prevented any extra oils since it is water based.
Finally, in instances where our skin felt a little irritated (due to excess sun exposure without sunscreen, a breakout or else) or simply when we wanted to feel even more refreshed, we found that throwing the bottle in the fridge before application will just elevate all the positive results stated previously and make us feel like we had just left the spa after a facial.
Price:
L’Oréal Paris Hydra Genius Moisturizer retails for 10.95$/70ml which is a very good price point considering that you only need 1 pump of the product twice a day – making it last for at least 6 months use.

I like the smell, texture, and color of it. 1 or 2 pumps are enough to cover the whole face and neck. Would have liked to see an anti-aging version of it, though, for middle-aged ladies.

I first saw some Ads on social media and i was intrigued to try it out ; i was and still not disappointed. Two drops are enough to hydrate your face and neck.

I started using this product ever since it was dropped and i use it mostly on my neck and chin, although it used to hydrate it also has a huge amount of alcohol in it so it hurts the skin. Disappointed they dont write ingredients at the back or else i wouldve known before and stopped usng it. I feel it caused aome damage to my face

I have combination skin, and honestly I’m so satisfied with this product! I’ve been using it for 2 weeks now and I’ve never felt that hydrated! It is very easy to apply and has a very soft finish. The instructions say you should use one pump, I personally tend to pump twice because I also hydrate the neck and I have extremely dry cheeks so it really helps! I highly recommend this product 🙂

I have very dry and sensitive skin so i usually go for milky consistency and heavy creams. After trying it out for a few weeks here are my final thoughts:
– the scent is not strong but definitely there. So if you are someone who does not like their skincare products to be scented, this might not be ideal for you.
-this product is best for normal to slightly dry skin types
– it gives nice hydration to the skin and leaves it silky and glass like which i adoree
– i found that it’s the perfect day moisturizer or base before applying makeup on (since the skin absorbs it quickly)
– Do not use too much to avoid stickiness
– personally it did not cause any reaction/breakout or redness. The skin feels calm and fresh upon use.
Overall i think it’s really worth the try especially for the price. However, for VERY dry skin (like mine) it might not be enough on its own.

Amazing, It’s lightweight, gel texture but packs hydration and feels like water on the skin very nice under makeup. Since I’ve been using this I’ve found my skin looking plumper than usual.. I think it works perfectly for oily skin it penetrates very quickly and it provides a really nice hydration, Maintains skin very soft ready to go to bed or even to apply make up.. This is one of my favorite moisturizers so far. It is affordable for everyone and the packaging is amazing! The amount of product also lasts very long since all you need is one pump on your face every morning and evening. I bought this essential product that must have for moisturizing your skin in these hot days.

I think it’s safe to say that L’Oreal just never dissapoints.

I’m in love with HYDRA GENIUS! It amazingly smells so fresh! It keeps my skin hydrated and leaves it feeling soft, smooth and naturally healthy and bright all day. I can finally say I’ve found a product that hydrates well without feeling too heavy!
As soon as you spread it on your skin you feel a cooling sensation. It dries pretty quickly leaving the skin very smooth. I used it as a primer and it reacted pretty well with my foundation, so that’s a plus.
I also really loved the smell of the product, I think some people might feel it’s bit too strong.

I love love love this product.
The smell? Summer.
The texture is so light which is very important for me because i don’t like applying heavy things over my face. It is so refreshing and i’m actually feeling my skin getting more glowy and more smooth over time.
