The Urban Decay All Nighter Liquid Foundation comes in a sleek, edgy, metallised bottle that has a luxurious gunmetal effect with asymmetric cut-outs that remind us a little of modern art. It has an airless pump that makes it easy to get the product out. It looks very sexy and modern, but also incredibly feminine. On the practical side, the shade of your foundation is clearly visible, so if you’re using several tones for contouring effect for example, you can easily differentiate between the different colors. The bottle never looks messy or dirty and is very easy to pack because of its medium size and cylinder shape.
There are 5 available shades in the Middle East, ranging from light to medium tones: 3 light/soft, 4 medium light/soft, 5 medium soft warm, 6 medium beige, 7 medium dark. Worldwide, there are 24 available shades, ranging from very light to very dark skin.
We tested the 3 light/soft shade.
This product doesn’t have a fragrance. There’s a chemical smell for a couple of seconds which fades away before even touching your skin.
This liquid foundation is high coverage so beware that a little goes a long way and always shake well before use. Work from the centre of the face outward by applying the product with a brush or a makeup sponge, rolling and pressing into the skin, in small sections as the product dries quickly.
Pro-tip: For the best result, make sure that your skin is well hydrated and your moisturiser has absorbed fully before applying any foundation.
The All Nighter Foundation is meant to provide full coverage with a matte finish. The brand claims it to be long lasting, with an “all-night” wear for a perfect complexion that looks amazing and stays that way.
We absolutely agree with the brand about the long-lasting effect of this foundation. The oil-free formula is also valid enough to wear every day, which is great. We found that once it is set there is no need to go over or reapply. The All Nighter Liquid Foundation is completely matte as Urban Decay loaded this formula with a large amount of pigment, so as we said earlier, a little goes a long way. There’s no need to build coverage or apply multiple layers. It is waterproof and paraben-free and it mattifies and absorbs oil to reduce the appearance of shine. With a wide range of shades, it’s easy to find your perfect match. We loved the way our skin looked, flawless and luminous.
We are also happy to report that it is appropriate for combination skin as it didn’t result in any blemish or zits.
This liquid foundation is priced at 50.4$ for 30ml. It is less expensive than similar range products such as the Clarins Skin Illusion Foundation, priced at 60$ for 30ml, but more so than the Shiseido Sheer Perfect Foundation sold at 46$ for 30ml. To note that both competing products have SPF protection integrated, which is not the case for the Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation.
