Packaging:

The Genesis range by Kérastase comprises two different types of shampoo that have similar designs with only a slight difference. Bain Nutri-Fortifiant (for thick hair) comes in an opaque, pink plastic bottle, whereas Bain Hydra-Fortifiant (for fine hair), which we will be reviewing next, comes in a transparent bottle through which the gel appears. Both bottles have a silver cap. This elegant packaging resembles all types of Kerastase shampoo, as the brand sets out a well-coordinated range of product designs.
The absence of a pump dispenser may be a bit impractical for you, especially when you’re running out of product and can’t pump out the remaining fluid. We tend to face this problem with most Kerastase products.

Smell:

This shampoo has a strong, invigorating smell that lingers after washing as if you’ve sprayed your hair with perfume. It also has a masculine whiff, but it isn’t irritating, as you’ll only notice it when you apply the shampoo into the palm of your hands before lathering it in.

Texture:

The Genesis Bain Hydra-Fortifiant shampoo has a runny, gel-like texture that spreads out effortlessly, as opposed to other creamy shampoos.

Hair Type:

This shampoo is designed for weakened hair, prone to falling due to breakage.

Application:

Wet your hair thoroughly and apply a dime-sized amount of shampoo onto it (you won’t need more than that!). Spread it out with your fingers on the right and left sides of your hairline, run it under water and lather with your fingertips. Focus on your scalp while doing that to remove all accumulated impurities. Rinse your hair thoroughly.
Use the same amount of shampoo again and apply as indicated previously. You will notice that the product will produce more foam the second time, to cleanse out your locks however long they are. Next, rinse thoroughly with water to get rid of any excess.
We used this shampoo along with the Genesis Fondant Renforçateur conditioner from the same range.

Effect:

We tried out this shampoo on fine hair prone to falling due to breakage, with an oily scalp. Using it for the first time, we were impressed by its deep cleansing properties and removal of all impurities and excess sebum. For this reason, you can rely on this product as part of your daily routine, and not only as a treatment for breakage. After drying out the hair, it felt remarkably lightweight.
Around four uses later, the hair looked healthier and full of moisture without turning oily.
As for breakage, you can only expect to start seeing results after a month of usage. After that, the amount of hair that falls out or gets tangled up in your brush diminishes. The results will keep improving with regular use. So, try to use this shampoo with its complementary conditioner frequently to reduce hair fallout effectively.

Price:

This shampoo retails at 34.5 USD per 250 ml in Lebanon. Its price is considered reasonable compared to other shampoos designed to fortify the hair and prevent fallout. The Phyto Novathrix Energizing Shampoo for all hair types retails at 43 USD per 200 ml, while the Kerium Anti-Hairloss Shampoo Complement from La Roche Posay at 24 USD per 200 ml.
In general, prices for anti-fallout shampoos range between 20 and 50 USD as they contain nourishing and fortifying ingredients to prevent breakage. For instance, Anaphase+ from Ducray sells at 27 USD per 200 ml.
