OUR EDITORIAL REVIEW

Packaging:

The “Résistance Bain Thérapiste” by Kerastase comes in a sleek squeezable tube with a screw-on lid. The packaging looks very luxurious especially because it has a deep blue shiny emerald color with white and silver inscriptions. However, the screw-on lid is not practical because closing it in the shower is difficult after having poured shampoo into your hands.

Hair Type:

This shampoo is designed for very damaged and over-processed hair.

Texture:

The “Résistance Bain Thérapiste” has an opaque but lightweight creamy gel-like consistency.

Scent:

This shampoo has a flowery smell that does not overpower.

Effect:

When testing the “Résistance Bain Thérapiste” we noticed that the shampoo lathers very well. Additionally, a small quantity of shampoo goes a long way, so there is no need to use much, even for thick hair. Immediately after the first use, the hair felt very different: it was moisturized, lustrous, soft, and detangled. The ends as well as the roots were nourished, and the hair had a nice glow to it and was easy to comb through and style. After drying the hair, we noticed that the hair looked a lot healthier and had a silky-velvety touch to it.

However, given that damaged hair varies in degrees of severity, we would recommend using the “Résistance Bain Thérapiste” as a cure by alternating it with another shampoo. In fact, we found that using the “Résistance Bain Thérapiste” as a main shampoo was too heavy for the hair because the formula tended to grease the hair after 3 consecutive uses. Since the shampoo is very concentrated, we also recommend making sure to rinse any excess product from the hair with cool or cold water to avoid buildup on the scalp which can cause itching.

Price:

The “Résistance Bain Thérapiste” retails at an average price of $26.9/250 mL which is a median and fair price compared to other products in the same range like Rene Furterer’s “Absolute Kératine, Renewal Shampoo” which sells at $36/200 mL and Klorane’s “Mango Butter Shampoo” which retails at $13/200 mL.
